The Montana Army National Guard's Heritage Outreach Program is an educational program for history teachers educating Juniors and Seniors throughout Montana. The War of 1812

In the Heritage Outreach Program's original presentation of the War of 1812, your students will learn about the demographics of the country and the trade agreements of the time and what was expected of a Soldier during the conflict. They'll also have the opportunity to try some of the rations and get hands on experience with historical items from the war. Teach your students about James Madison, and how barely 6,000 Soldiers won multiple battles. Request a Heritage Outreach Program Presentation Here.

The Civil War

In 1861 Confederate Artillery attacked Fort Sumpter, SC. After 34 hours they surrendered, effectively beginning the Civil War. Lead by President Jefferson Davis, the Southern Army secured many victories, however, by 1863 the Union Army under President Abraham Lincoln became victorious at many famous battles, including the Battle of Gettysburg where President Lincoln delivered the famous Gettysburg Address. In this presentation your students will learn about the political and economic factors behind the war, and get hands on experience with many historical replicas. World War I

Sparked by the assasination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria, World War I was a war that the United States was late to join. President Woodrow Wilson entered the United States into WWI in 1917 after the British released the Zimmerman Note. Your Students will learn about how 17% of Montana's population served in World War I, the weapons, the equipment, and the hungry American Soldier that the Germans often complained about. World War II

The German Invasion of Poland effectively began World War II in the year 1939. President Franklin D. Roosevelt lead the United States into the war after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy. Your students will learn about the war-ending Treaty of Versailles, what the day-to-day life of a Soldier looked like, and how individuals in the United States helped the cause from home. The Pitsco Scout 2.0 Windtunnel

Your students will get a hands-on learning experience with the Pitsco Scout 2.0 Windtunnel class from the STEM Program! Learn the physics behind the design of many land and air vehicles. Digital readouts will give you the drag behind some of the most popular designs of vehicles including the HMMWV and the Porche, aircraft like the Boeing 757, and even the Batmobile. FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared)

Give your students a hands-on and practical learning experience with the FLIR Presentation from the Montana Army National Guard. FLIR has many uses including assisting contractors with finding support structures hidden behind walls, as well as showing water pipes that may be hidden from view. Request a STEM Presentation Here.

Makerbot Replicator+ 3D Printer

Your students will get an interactive learning experience with our Makerbot Replicator+ 3D printer. They'll learn how engineers use this technology to test new vehicle and aircraft designs by printing small-scale replicas. Virtual Reality Using Oculus Rift System

Virtual Reality has many different uses including training, education, and of course, gaming. The Montana Army National Guard's Virtual Reality presentation is a hands-on, interactive presentation that will allow your students to explore the many capabilities of virtual reality including our most popular program for biology classes: ShareCare VR. ShareCare VR allows your student to explore the human body, even placing themselves into the chamber of a beating heart for an immersive, educational experience that is sure to "wow!" your students! Z-Space

Have you ever wished that you could show your students how to disassemble and reassemble everyday objects without actually having to get your hands dirty? The Z-Space program allows you to take an object off of a computer screen into the world and manipulate it using augmented virtual reality. This will allow your student to get a better understanding of how various components work together.
